Ron Wuaten was on his way to work on Wall Street in March when he suddenly found himself gasping for air as he climbed a set of subway stairs. “I felt like I was drowning,” Ron, 37, recalls. “I had to stop several times just to catch my breath.” He quickly found an NYP OnDemand telehealth kiosk at his local Walgreens. In less than a minute, Ron came face to face with a NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine doctor via computer screen. After completing a few quick tests: Blood Pressure, Temperature, and Mobility Test, the doctor recommended Ron immediately head to the nearest Hospital Emergency Room. Lucky for Ron, NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital was right down the street. Once Ron arrived, the staff was waiting for him. Today, Ron continues to get his care from NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine doctors.
